An exciting and sometimes challenging technique, goldwork certainly has the wow factor, and the glorious images in this book show the technique in all its glory. The history of goldwork in Britain and Europe is illustrated with photographs of embroidered costumes and textiles from museums and private collections many of which have never previously been published or been on public view.

There are also 15 embroidery projects, each with clear instructions; some are suitable for beginners, while others are more complex, but the chapters on materials and techniques ensure that all of the methods are clearly explained.
