About the Author

About Laurence Bonnet

Since Laurence Bonnet was little she spent most of her time making, sewing, knitting, drawing... she never stops creating! Her creations speak of childhood, of the difficulty of being small, of the power that small things have to reassure and make the world around them sweeter. She puts a lot of her own childhood memories into her work. Each of the objects that she makes is an invitation to imagination and dreaming, a way of remembering the child that we were, and of celebrating the one we remain for a little while. Customer Review

I love this book! Truly fantastic! All of the doll characters are so cute and clever! And with the options of making clothes and even bedding and toys for the toys themselves I loved this even more. I hope that everyone that buys this book feels the same way as I do. The author is such a great artist!

Customer Review

What an absolute joy of a book! I wasn't too sure what I was expecting but the world of these beautiful hand made creatures is just so lovely! In fact even when not making the little folk I settle down with a cuppa and just read the text and look at the beautiful photographs! A joy of a book and one that I would highly recommend. Just superb!

Booklist, November issue

Miniature everything is the name of the game for this French import, right down to the typeface used! Standing at about nine inches tall, all 18 of Bonnets creature are delightfully designed, with exquisite facial features, up-to-the-minute clothing and accoutrements, and elegantly photographed objets dart, including mattresses and blankets for Rosie and her miniature rabbit, a hot air balloon for Lili mouse, and an art portfolio, ankle boots, and more for their friends. Though a magnifying glass may be desirable for the aforementioned typeface, crafters can skip the sewing machine and instead use the mainly simple techniques on display here: knitting and
crochet stitches, running stitches, gathers, attaching arms, transferring patterns. Perhaps a bit big for a dollhouse, these are still stuffed huggables anyone would adore.
