I wish this book had been around when I first got my coverstitch machine, it would have been such a help. Well presented book with clear photos and easy-to-follow instructions covering setting up your machine and maintaining it, explaining all the techniques you can achieve with a coverstitch using a host of stitches and fabrics and some great projects to try out the skills you learn. Many people think a coverstitch machine is 'just for hemming' this book shows you how much more you can get from your machine. I've had my machine a few year but found it very informative and I will keep this book next to my machine for future reference.
I'm new to sewing with a coverstitch machine and found this so useful. The projects look great and the techniques and pictures make it easy to understand. All that's needed now is time to practice!
Search Press really know what they're doing with their manuals - always well laid out, beautifully photographed and full of useful hints, tips and information. This book is no exception to this rule and guides you through every aspect of using a coverstitch machine. From how to thread it, clean it and maintain it all the way through to a selection of projects this is an extremely comprehensive manual. Whether you are a novice or experienced machinist there will be something here for you, I'm sure I'll be referring to it again and again.
This takes you through understanding what the machine does, and the difference between this and overlockers, through equipment and threading, to techniques and projects. Instructions are accompanied by clear pictures. It helped me see where all sorts of projects could be enhanced by using the machine and there are lots of things to practice to help you gain confidence. One to refer to over and over.
This is the perfect guide, for sewers of all abilities, to get the most out of a machine. Create seams, stitch corners, finish, necklines and other raw edges and make decorative stitches. Look out for Julia's equally useful Overlocker Technique Manual.
