A great book full of ideas.
This book contains a wealth of ideas to knit using small amounts of yarn from a knitters stash. The projects could be used to embellish a project or as stand alone projects.
The instructions for the projects are clear and the photographs enable the knitter to visualize each project. I can see that ideas could easily be used as part of a group project such as under the sea, what one may find in a garden or springtime has arrived.
Some of the projects are motifs within squares, some are 3D and others could easily be used as a border for a jumper or hat.
The projects range in difficulty such as an easy harvest leaf or a more complex Yeti crab. The knitter can expand their skills by trying out different ones to develop their skills.
I would recommend this book to add to your library.
This imaginative book boasts patterns featuring decorative flowers, leaves, bugs butterflies and more! This irresistibly cute collection of small knitting projects inspired by nature is suitable for knitters of all abilities, meaning that experienced crafters can make alongside complete knitting novices.

Fun isn't something you can only have when you crochet. You can have fun when you knit, too. Lesley, Betty, Jessica and Kristin have just as much knowledge and experience of knitting as they do of crochet. And just as much love. In this book, there are floral block and chart designs to be stitched together into a blanketm cushion cover or shawl. But it's the 3d projects inspired by fish, birds, flora and fauna that are perhaps the most fun of all. You could knit yourself a whole aquarium of tropical fish. Or how about a family of blue tits? You might also want to knit a maple leaf, an acorn... or if it's Christmas, a sprig of mistletoe. The patterns are accessible for beginners and experienced knitters alike, and can be made up using odds and ends of yarn. The more you knit, the better you get. But what's the point in knitting and crochet, if it's not fun?
Great selection of patterns with a variety of difficulty. This book clearly shows how difficult or easy a pattern is with a simple rating. As a fairly new knitter i found the ratings very helpful. There a beautiful photographs through out and clear instructions. This is a great book to dip into on a rainy day.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review - how lucky! Love the 'expanded contents' pages with photos of all the projects, their difficulty rating and by group e.g. under the sea - these make project planning and selection easy. There's a wide selection of both 2D (flat) and 3D projects all of which could easily be combined to create woolly wall murals, mobile hangings, keyrings, detail on clothing etc. Great way to use up any scraps of yarn, and possibly get your children knitting with you at the same time. Would I buy this book if I'd seen it in a shop? Yes, and would recommend to crafting friends too as well as knitters.
A lovely book full of wonderful little makes. No matter your skill level, there is something for everyone. I will be making many of the creatures; and I will be turning some of the flower blocks into blankets and other items. All in all, a lovely book that covers a wide variety.
This is a great book with easy to understand instructions. So many interesting projects. I particularly love the flowers section. Lovely lovely book and I can't wait to get started on these projects
This is a lovely book. Techniques are explained at the back of the book. I particularly like the sea animals and birds and insects you can knit. I think they would look lovely on a mobile for a baby's nursery. I would have preferred more animal themed knits but there are around 50 designs which are patterns to knit onto blocks, I probably wouldn't use these. Overall a lovely book for making quick cute little knits :)
A good collection of patterns amalgamated from other books. Great for little add on handmade gifts - butterflies could be brooches, some of the flowers would make pretty gift tags. This book appeals to me because the patterns are easy to follow and don't take like to complete. Excellent for using up left over bits of yarn.
All the patterns are clearly written and easy to follow, and they're great for using up all the odds and ends that I can't bear to throw away.
This is a lovely book with some inspiring projects for all levels. There is a handy 'pattern selector' at the front which is a small photo of each project with the relevant page number & the degree of difficulty indicated. The photos are repeated plentifully with each pattern along with recommended yarn weight & colours used. The patterns are clearly written & easy to follow, some of the floral blocks have charts rather than written patterns. In addition to the charming patterns a section at the end of the book gives help on subjects such as basic knitting stitches, cables, finishing off & joining floral blocks.
With this book in my library I will be able to use any small amounts of left over yarn with ease, there seems to be something for every possible ocassion imaginable & a good place to start. I can imagine using a number of these designs to make broaches or other pieces of jewellery to give as gifts. As stated at the beginning of the book theses patterns have appeared elsewhere but if one found one wished to focus more on one subject than another then this would be a good place to learn that.
Wonderful book with easy to read instructions and patterns. Would definitely recommended to others who love to knit like me
200 small projects to knit no matter what your skill level. Levels are indicated from beginner to advanced. 3D projects are inspired by nature and include knitted flowers, birds, bugs, leaves and sea creatures. You'll also find floral block designs. Projects are a great way to use up odd leftover yarn. Equipment, yarn, knitting and crochet as well as finishing techniques are given at the back of the book, with useful images. Photos of all the projects appear at the front of the book, then again with the instructions. Some of the floral blocks have chart designs, I like the flower beds and these blocks could be stitched together to make a blanket. I can see the crab and bird's nests being very popular. The blue-tit is a must-knit.
