This book says its adorable. And its not wrong! There are 10 bears to knit, 10 adorable bears, as well as plenty of mix and match clothes and accessories. You could knit yourself a Winston the koala, Riley the panda, or an Emmeline cable knit bear, dress them in waistcoats, dungarees jumpers or even coats and kit them out with hats, scarves, bags and even superhero disguises. Patterns range from beginner to intermediate level, and all the instructions are easy to follow and written in a friendly accessible way, Rachel Borello is a mum, so she knows just how a good friend in a teddy bear can be for a little one. She learned to knit as a child, with her mum as teacher. And its that special love shared by a mum and her child that makes Rachels designs so special
This is one book where the title completely and utterly describes the book. This book is jam packed full of ten different teddy bears and all the accessories that go along with them. There is something so special about making something handmade for a family member of friend. Being able to give someone a gift that shows your love for them. I love the fact that each bear has their own look
and the outfits that make their character even clearer. The patterns are in a written format.
These patterns are located at the start of the book, including all the patterns for the accessories.
The 2nd half of the book is all the hints and tips you will need to make up your bear.
All the techniques are shown including the stitches you will use. This is a special book with beautiful projects in it. The bears would make amazing gifts and I am sure they would be treasured for a life time.

Knit a bevy of bears and dress them up with this fun book. There are ten to choose from, plus a range of cute outfits to dress them in, all great as starting points to get childrens imagination racing.
Choose from classic bears, a koala, panda, baby bear and more and dress them up in a variety of costumes including a superhero and Scandinavian Christmas outfit. There are accessories too such as a sleeping bag for baby, tiny bear, Christmas stocking and backpack. Many of the clothes are mix and match so you can dress your bear in a variety of ways, and use up lots of yarn oddments as you do so. Some knitting know-how is required to use this book, particularly as many of the bears and items are knitted in the round on four or five needles. Knowing how to do this is a given here, although there are some projects knitted on just two and most of the stitches used are plain and purl. At the back are some basic core techniques including casting on, plain, purl and finishing as well as a handy list of abbreviations. More about the multi needle method of knitting would have been useful as it is used so much. The book is well laid out, with all the bears at the front and then the clothes. Each bear has more than one large photograph showing it both dressed and naked, with more pictures of all the items that go with it. My own favorite has to be Olaf the Christmas bear who purposely knits up quickly and would make a great decoration as well as a toy. This will be a popular book with any confident knitter who knows how to manage more than two needles and knows more than the basics.
Adorable Teddy Bear to Knit is a delightful new book by Rachel Borello. In addition to ten bear patterns, it contains a wardrobe of mix and match clothes and accessories to dress your new creation. Rachel also discusses what techniques you can use to give your bear the best finish.
