Find the stitches, techniques and inspiration to create ribbon embroidery projects. Forty embroideries will keep you busy with an embroidery key, stitches, template and order of work. The projects are by different designers and there is something to suit every taste. I love the daffodils and tulips by Helen Eriksson and her Hyacinths are amazing. This book should suit everyone from beginner upwards. Hundreds of step-by-step photos ensure you can create fabulous roses and other flowers. It's an update on an older book and forms a comprehensive reference on the subject.

Stitch

Feb-March

This addition to the A-Z collection is comprehensive and fantastically detailed in both text and pictures. Here, othing is glossed over to make projects appear and simpler to produce. Thye instructions for making that classic ribbon motif, a folded rose, are a good example. Some books give only the intitial instructions for starting the rose continuing 'carry on until you have made a rose'. Refreshingly, this version is explained in genuinely step-by-step style over two pages each step accompanied by clear photographs and text. Basic techniques foundation stitches are covered in depth and clarity, such as how to produce the essential, delicately curved looped ribbon stitch, here shown in six clear, distinct stages. Enticing projects designed by a wide range of textiles artists specialising in this luxurious work are also included, making this an excellent addition to your stitch reference library. As well as the flowers you might reasonably expect to see wrought in ribbon, you'll also find enchanting motifs like seagulls, teddy bears and even ghosts, making this an invaluable design reference tool for diverse applications.

It's a comprehensive reference on the subject and a complete manual for the beginner through to the advanced embroiderer.
